Ultrasound-guided cryoneurolysis of the tibial nerve via an 18-gauge introducer, showing ice-ball formation at the nerve. Demonstrated in a lower-limb amputee for management of residual/phantom limb pain, concluding with the patient ambulating pain-free.

This procedure was performed by Arun Kalava, MD, EDRA, a board-certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician in Tampa, FL, trained and certified in cryoneurolysis by the technique’s originators. Dr. Kalava is the Founder and Chairman of the American Society for Post Surgical Pain (ASPSP).
