Laparoscopic Salpingectomy for Ectopic Pregnancy Using Straight-Stick Laparoscopy

Dr. Antonia Bannister ·September 17, 2026 ·10 views f 𝕏 in

This video demonstrates a straight-stick laparoscopic salpingectomy for the definitive surgical management of a tubal ectopic pregnancy while preserving the ovary. The operative sequence includes pelvic survey and identification of the affected fallopian tube, elevation of the tube, exposure of the mesosalpinx with attention to ovarian protection, and sequential sealing and division of the mesosalpinx. The proximal tubal attachment is then divided, followed by confirmation of hemostasis and contained specimen retrieval. The video emphasizes clear identification of pelvic anatomy, controlled traction and countertraction, and division close to the fallopian tube to facilitate safe, efficient salpingectomy while minimizing unnecessary injury to surrounding structures.
