Laryngeal endoscopy easy technique

Easy comfortable way of performing laryngeal endoscopy with rigid Hopkins rod endoscope is shown. 
The patient is counselled regarding the technique. 
Local anaesthetic spray may or may not be used.

A 30 or 70 degree rigid Hopkins Rod Endoscope is gently manoeuvred through the lateral side of the mouth till it reaches the base of the tongue. The patient is asked to phonate and breathe in order to visualise the vocal cord movements.

All structures in the oropharynx and laryngopharynx can be observed.
