Surgical intervention for a sinus venosus ASD using the two patch repair technique.
Bicaval cardiopulmonary bypass was performed. It should be noted that SVC cannulation was completed high (far away from SVC RA junction). Patient was given 10ml/kg of Del Nido cardioplegia solution and kept normothermic throughout the case. Preoperative workup included a transthoracic echocardiogram and a cardiac CTA with 3-D reconstruction.

Two patches were used to correct the anomalous pulmonary venous drainage into the left atrium. The patient was separated from cardiopulmonary bypass, closed in the usual fashion, and extubated in the OR. Patients post operative course was uneventful. The central venous line and chest tube were removed on post-op day 2 and the patient was discharged on day post-op day 4 on an anti-inflammatory protocol. Post-op echo demonstrates no significant flow aliasing across the repair.
An alternative to this 2 patch repair is known as the as the Warden procedure.
